Calibr ("Calibr", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website usecalibr.io and the application app.usecalibr.io (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By using Calibr, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly:
• Account registration data: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Brand voice profiles: the examples, guidelines, and descriptions you submit to create voice profiles.
• Text content you submit for rewriting through the Rewriter.
• Payment information: billing details processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers directly — Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
• Communications: any messages you send us via email or support channels.
1.2 Information collected automatically:
• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring URLs.
• Usage data: features used, rewrite counts, voice profiles created, session duration.
• Device information: browser version, operating system, screen resolution.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for authentication, preference cookies for settings, analytics cookies via Google Analytics.
1.3 Information from third parties:
• Google Analytics provides aggregated usage statistics. We do not receive personally identifiable information from Google Analytics.
• Stripe provides payment confirmation and subscription status. We receive transaction IDs and subscription state, not full payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
• To provide and operate the Service, including processing rewrites and maintaining your voice profiles.
• To manage your account, authenticate you, and maintain your subscription status.
• To process payments and send billing-related communications.
• To improve the Service by understanding how users interact with features.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
• To send product updates and marketing communications where you have given consent or where permitted by applicable law. You may opt out at any time.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations.
Important — Content and AI processing: The text you submit for rewriting and your brand voice profile data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate calibrated output. This content is processed under Anthropic's usage policies. We do not use your submitted content to train our own models. We do not sell your content to third parties.
3. Data Storage and Retention
• Your account data and voice profiles are stored securely on our servers hosted through Base44 and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Rewrite history is stored for the duration of your account. Pro users retain full history. Free users retain the last 3 rewrites.
• If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and voice profiles within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or financial compliance purposes.
• Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days in encrypted backup storage before being permanently deleted.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service providers: We share data with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service:
• Anthropic — AI processing of text submitted for rewriting.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Google Analytics — aggregated usage analytics.
• Base44 / cloud hosting providers — data storage and application infrastructure.
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
4.2 Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
4.3 Business transfers: If Calibr is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
• Essential cookies: required for authentication and session management. The Service cannot function without these.
• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand usage patterns. These can be declined without affecting core functionality.
• Preference cookies: store your settings and preferences between sessions.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the Service.

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us at privacy@usecalibr.io.
